Therapy is an investment in your future. Here are some questions and answers to provide a better understanding of this investment.

What should I do if I or someone I know if feeling suicidal?

If you are feeling suicidal and do not feel confident that you can keep yourself safe, you should call 911, visit your nearest emergency room, contact the Behavioral Health Charlotte Helpline 24/7 Crisis Assistance at 704.444.2400 or 800.418.2065.

How much does a counseling session cost?

An initial intake session is 90 minutes in length and the fee is $110 for the session. An individual counseling sessions is 45 minutes in length and the fee is $85 per session. Acceptable forms of payment include credit cards, debit cards, HSA (Health Savings Account) and FSA (Flexible Spending Account). I offer limited Sliding Scale clients in my practice. The Sliding Scale fee is $80 for an initial intake session and a fee of $60 for individual counseling sessions. When are you available for sessions?

Our sessions are scheduled at 6733 Fairview Road, Suite B in Charlotte NC. Appointments are available evenings and weekends to see clients Wednesday through Saturday.

Do you accept any insurance plans?

I value confidentiality and believe that you should guide the length of your therapy. I do not accept insurance, nor am I on any insurance panels. Please be advised, I am required by insurance companies to provide you with a diagnosis code (for example F41.1 Generalized Anxiety Disorder, F43.11 Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Acute, or F33.0 Major Depressive Disorder, Recurrent, Mild). This information will become part of your permanent medical record. However, if you would like to access your out of network benefits, I can provide you with a Statement for Reimbursement form or Superbill.  You can submit this form to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Depending on your out of network benefits, you may be able to receive a partial reimbursement for the cost of your session. Please contact your insurance provider to verify your policy includes out of network mental health coverage for counseling services. This form can help you understand your benefits.

How do I set up an appointment?

Please contact me by phone at 980.270.1939 to schedule an appointment. Online appointments are not available at this time. I do my best to answer incoming phone calls but I may be on another call or in a session with a client. Please leave a confidential voicemail message and I will return you call within 24 hours. 

What if I need to change or cancel my appointment?

I understand that life happens and things come up we cannot control. Please contact me immediately via phone or email to change or cancel your upcoming appointment. If you do not contact the office within at least 24 hours of your scheduled appointment, your credit card on file will be charged $60 for a no show/late cancellation fee. 

Are our sessions kept confidential?

Yes! Confidentiality is a critical part of the counseling relationship. The time we spend together in sessions provides you with a safe place to work through personal issues. Your right to confidentiality is protected by the law and will be carefully maintained and will not be disclosed without your written permission, except in specific cases listed below.

  • Suspected child abuse or dependent adult or elder abuse, for which I am required by law to report this to the appropriate authorities immediately.

  • If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person/s, I must notify the police and inform the intended victim.

  • If a client intends to harm themselves, I will make every effort to enlist their cooperation in insuring their safety. If they do not cooperate, I will take further measures without their permission that are provided to me by law in order to ensure their safety.

  • Disclosure due to court order or subpoena. Prior to disclosure the client will be notified and the specifics of the order will be discussed.
